French prêt-à-porter brand Cache Cache, part of the Beaumanoir group, is to use 3D technology from textile solutions provider Lectra to improve its product development.
It will use Lectra’s Modaris 3D solution, a pattern-making and grading software that includes fully-integrated 3D prototyping technology.
Cache Cache already employs the expert version of Modaris, but has now purchased the 3D upgrade for its design offices in St. Malo, France and Shanghai China. It will initially be used for its range of dresses, before being extended across all of its collections.
“We are leveraging Modaris 3D to react rapidly to evolving demand. With this solution, our stylists and product managers can easily make choices, organized around the same screen, based on prototypes developed in 3D. The decision-making process starts as early as possible and is much quicker,” explained Camille Dupont, director of offer at Cache Cache.
“Cache Cache sub-contracts manufacturing to a vast network of suppliers,” added Karen Elalouf, managing director of Lectra France. “By replacing a portion of the physical prototypes with virtual prototypes, Lectra’s 3D technology will simplify the exchanges between the design office and sub-contractors, generating many advantages including saving time, savings on materials, and reducing stocks.”
