Iranian and Italian textile machinery collaboration

According to the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers, partnerships between Italian and Iranian textile and textile machinery companies have never been stronger.
“For years, Iran has been one of the most prominent markets for Italy’s textile machinery manufacturers,” says the association.

Sales of Italian textile machinery to Iran during the first nine months of 2009 totalled EUR16 million, making the country Italy’s fifth biggest textile machinery export destination in Asia.

Between January and September 2009, the breakdown was as follows: finishing machinery (46%), other machinery (16%), weaving machinery (13%), spinning machines (11%), accessories (11%) and knitting machinery (3%).

The growing interest in Italian finishing machinery prompted ACIMIT (Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers) and ICE (Italian Trade Commission), in partnership with the Iranian Textile Association, to promote a ‘technology check-up’ for Iranian textile companies operating in the finishing sector. During the second half of 2009, Italian machinery experts visited 10 Iranian textile manufacturers to pinpoint any technology requirements and identifying possible solutions available from Italian textile machinery manufacturers.
