Lucy Activewear to move headquarters

Specialist outdoor brand Lucy Activewear is to move out of its headquarters in Portland, Oregon, to co-locate head office and distribution centre functions with those of other outdoor brands that are part of the VF Corporation group in San Leandro, California. The move will take place this summer.
The closure of the brand’s headquarters in Portland may cost as many as 95 jobs.
“When we looked at what would help the business most, we thought having it aligned with a strong technical performance product engine and a mature retailing group, which we have in outdoor, would be the best way to leverage VF's capabilities,” said the group’s chief executive, Eric Wiseman.
Launched 10 years ago as an online only retailer, Lucy Activewear now has 65 stores across North America. VF Corporation acquired the brand in August 2007.
