Arkema triples China polyamide production
France-based chemicals company Arkema is to triple its performance polyamide production in Asia by 2013. The firm will says the increased capacity of Rilsan and Rilsamid at its Changshu plant near Shanghai will help it meet “sharply growing demand” in Asia.
“The capacity increase of our Changshu site illustrates our long-term commitment to our customers in the Chinese and Asian markets. It will help boost our leading position in the high-performance polyamide markets, while also providing our customers with local service from our competitive platform in Changshu,” said Frédéric Marot-Achillas, managing director, technical polymers business unit.
With operations in more than 40 countries, 14,000 employees and seven research centres, Arkema generates annual revenue of €5.5.
