New OIA ambassadors prepare to reach out to independent retailers
11/10/2011
Chief executive, Andrew Denton, has announced the appointment of three ambassadors, whose role will be to build better two-way communications between the association and thousands of retailers and other small businesses operating in the outdoor sector.
The OIA’s first three ambassadors will be Nick Anderson, Lee Taylor and Gus Sandeman, all of whom are well established sales agents in the outdoor industry. Between them, they have worked with a wide range of brands and deal closely with both multiple and independent retailers on a daily basis.
On announcing the development, Andrew Denton commented: “Nick, Lee and Gus are well acquainted with the history of the OIA, and have seen it at its best and worst. They share our vision and understand why and how a thriving trade association will be good news for everyone in the industry. That knowledge, combined with their jobs, means that they are ideally placed to talk to individual retailers about the work of the OIA. Of course, part of their ambassadorial roles will involve recruiting new members, but our plan is that they will also be the association’s eyes and ears in the field, gathering the news and views that will shape our future activities.”
