Schoeller technology picked up a silver award in the 2011 Focus Open competition for its energear product, which ensures that far infrared rays (FIRs) radiated by the body are returned. The competition is run by the Design Center Stuttgart.

The Swiss company has described the effect that energear can produce as being like that of a hot stone massage or an infrared sauna. It says fabrics containing the technology can improve the wearer’s blood circulation and, in sports applications, improve an athlete’s performance.
