Miroglio takes Newlife to A+A

Polyester filament and spun yarns manufacturer Filature Miroglio presented its Newlife platform to workwear and protective textiles manufacturers at the A+A exhibition in Düsseldorf in mid-October.

Newlife yarns are made from recycled post-consumption plastic bottles using a mechanical rather than chemical process, certified as being 100% made in Italy along the whole supply chain. In other words, even the bottles are collected for recycling from Italian consumers. Filature Miroglio believes this makes the chain “completely traceable”. The entire process is Oeko-Tex certified and has also obtained the Plastica Seconda Vita (Second Life for Plastic) trademark issued by the Italian Plastics Institute (IIP).

The Newlife range includes POY, flat, textured, microfibre and hollow-section yarns for a wide variety of end-uses including contract and accident prevention textiles, as well as sportswear. The yarns also come in a wide range of counts to meet a variety of technical and environmental performance standards and user expectations.
