Nike shows faith in Spain

Sports brand Nike opened its largest store to date in Spain on March 7, a factory store covering 1,800 square-metres in the Parque Oeste shopping mall in Madrid dormitory town Alcorcón.

The factory-store concept involves selling clothing, footwear and equipment from previous seasons at discount.

However, in the last 12 months, the sports brand has also re-opened its 500 square-metre flagship store on the Gran Vía in the heart of the Spanish capital, indicating that Nike is optimisitc about Spain’s economic recovery after almost six years of recession.
