Science and technology body in Mexico backs textile projects

The organisation said it was withholding exact details of the projects for intellectual property reasons, but Mexico’s textile industry association, Citex, confirmed to local media that the funding would go to two medium-sized textile manufacturing firms in the state of Tlaxcala.
Head of Citex in Tlaxcala, Luis Corral, said of the announcement: “The good news here is two-fold. In the first case, this is the first access any of our companies have had to Conacyt funding in many years. Secondly, this shows that Tlaxcala is part of the technical development of the textile sector and the whole industry in our state will gain a boost from this.”
