Techtera project aims for solar protection for sheer textiles

23/05/2014
Techtera, a special technical textile cluster set up in the Rho^ne- Alpes region of France in 2005 to encourage manufacturers to work together with research bodies and universities to bring innovative textile products to market, has announced a new development, Solarclym.

The result of the joint efforts of seven partners in all, Solarclym’s function is to make clothing and other surfaces more resistant to ultraviolet radiation from the sun, and specifically to endow sheer and transparent textiles with this functionality.

Because Solarclym will be applied at polymer level, its effects should have a high level of durability.

Since 2005, Techtera members have launched more than 250 innovative products, around half of which have attracted investors.
