Nike announces a string of important management changes
Nike has announced a number of management changes across its global business. The changes are designed to continue to drive the company’s global growth while further strengthening and diversifying its leadership “bench”, it said on making the announcement.

Marc van Pappelendam, currently the company’s vice-president and general manager for the UK and Ireland will become general manager of Central and Eastern Europe. He has held various commercial and general management roles in Europe during his 15 years at Nike and oversaw the company’s efforts during the London Olympics in 2012.

Jim Reynolds becomes vice-president and general manager for the Japanese market, moving from carrying out the same role in Russia, where he has “led the brand, accelerated marketplace development and leveraged key sports moments including this year's Winter Games in Sochi”, Nike said.

Craig Zanon will now lead an “expanded and elevated role” in the men’s training category. He is currently vice-president and general manager of global basketball and has held a range of senior management roles in the US during a 23-year career with Nike.

Michael Jackson, who is currently vice-president and general manager of basketball in North America, will take over as global head of basketball.
