Spain’s textile exports grow by 4.1% in first half
20/08/2014
While the figure is considerably higher than the country’s overall figure of 0.5% growth for manufactured goods as a whole, commentators have expressed disappointment because the growth figure for the same period in 2013 was much higher, at 12.4%.
Spain’s economy has been among the slowest in Europe to show signs of recovery following the global economic downturn that began in 2008.
Overall textile exports had a value of just above €6 billion in the first six months of this year. Garment exports contributed €4.2 billion of this.
