Biochemical fibres will be next ‘hot product’ in China

Chinese exhibitors at the upcoming Yarn Expo Spring 2015 will be promoting biochemical fibres in a new Bio Fibre Zone.

Unlike traditional man-made fibres which stem from crude oil, biochemical fibre is made with renewable bio materials.

Wendy Wen, a senior manager at show organiser Messe Frankfurt, said: “Biochemical fibre will be the next hot product in China as developing renewable materials is a big focus of the country’s 13th five-year plan that runs from 2016 to 2020.”

Several other special zones in the pavilion will showcase innovative fibres and yarns.
The Advanced Cottony Polyester Fibre Zone will feature the newly developed Super Imitation Cotton fibres that can be used in sportswear and denim fabrics.

The Specialty Fibre Zone and Functional Fibre Zone feature carbon fibres, heat-resistant Para-Aramid fibres, high-strength UHMWPE fibres and polyimide fibres, as well as other functional fibres which are flame retardant and odour eliminating.

Held in a new venue this year, Yarn Expo Spring 2015 will return to Shanghai from March 18 to 20 at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre.
