Lululemon founder’s family pushes new “technical luxury” clothing brand
20/02/2015
Shannon Wilson and J.J. Wilson have said the Vancouver-based clothing brand applies technical attributes to high-end fabrics in its collections.
Examples include qemir, a proprietary blend of 81% viscose, 10% elastane and 9% cashmere, which the company uses in its women’s lines. The Kit and Ace founders describe their garments as streetwear that can function like athletic wear.
The Wilsons set up Kit and Ace in 2014 and quickly opened seven studios in major cities in Canada and the US. They have plans to open more in 2015 and have also invested in advanced e-commerce software such as Cloud-based product lifecycle management functionality from technology provider WFX.
