Textile machinery-makers on board with Euratex’s energy plan

09/03/2015
European textile association Euratex has enlisted Italian and German machinery-makers’ associations to speed up its initiative aimed at reducing energy use across the industry.

Memorandums of understanding have been signed with Italy’s ACIMIT and Germany’s VDMA, which have their own energy saving schemes, the Sustainable Technologies project and the Blue Competence initiative , respectively.

The Italians are developing new models that need less energy and reduce environmental impact.
Euratex’s Energy Made-to-Measure (EM2M) campaign targets companies across the continent, and has involved 20 events in eight countries to discuss opportunities to cut costs for more efficient, sustainable manufacturing.

Early results will be presented at Techtextil/ Texprocess (Frankfurt, 4-7 May) and ITMA (Milan, 12-19 November).
