Fifty Italian textile machinery companies will be at Techtextil

The Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers (ACIMIT) has said 50 of its member companies will take part in the 2015 Techtextil exhibition in Frankfurt, from May 4-7. Of these, 23 companies will exhibit at a special Italian Pavillion at the event.

ACIMIT president, Rafaella Carabelli, said in the build-up to Techtextil that growth in technical textiles has been much stronger in recent years than growth in the traditional textile sector.

She pointed out that Europe’s technical textile production sector is now worth €30 billion per year, giving it a share of around 30% of the overall textile market there.

Ms Carabelli said the increasing importance of technical textiles was good news for Italian machinery manufacturers because technical textiles demand high levels of innovation. She insisted her members are well placed to deliver this innovation, saying Italy’s textile machine manufacturers are “global leaders in machinery specially designed for the production of technical and innovative textiles”.
