ICAC winner credited with boosting Australia’s cotton yields

11/05/2015
The International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) has named Dr Greg Constable of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) in Australia as Cotton Researcher of the Year for 2015.

Average cotton yields in Australia are almost three times the global average and Dr Constable has made a “significant contribution” to this.

His ability to link physiology with cotton varietal development have led to significant breakthroughs in the creation of new varieties, some of which dominate markets in other countries.

Dr Constable has been working in the field for four decades and has mentored many young researchers.
