Solvay takes sole ownership of former PVC joint venture

01/07/2015
Belgian chemicals manufacturer Solvay has taken 100% ownership of SolVin, a joint-venture it set up with BASF in 1999 for the production of polyvinyl chloride (PVC).

BASF had a 25% stake in the business but on July 1, the day it closed the sale of its global textile chemicals business to Archroma, BASF announced that it had reached agreement to sell its SolVin stake to Solvay too.

Neither company disclosed the financial details of the transaction.
