Adidas unveils shoe made from recycled ocean waste
Sports brand adidas has unveiled a new athletic shoe that celebrates a new partnership it has established with Parley for the Oceans, an organisation that aims to raise awareness about ocean conservation. The event took place at the end of June at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

Part of Parley for the Oceans’ campaign centres on ending plastic pollution of the oceans and the new adidas shoe has an upper made entirely from yarns and filaments reclaimed and recycled from ocean waste. It’s a concept shoe, but adidas has said it will reveal consumer-ready ocean plastic products later this year.
