WFGSI Forum: VF exec to discuss reducing labour

The World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry has announced two more speakers for its Manufacturers’ Forum in Hong Kong in December.

Dr Thomas Schmidt, director of innovation at Huafeng Textile Group in China, started his career at adidas in 1999 based in Guangzhou, China.

In 2001 he joined TIGER Coatings and transferred to Huafeng last year.

He will present the group’s new selective 3D coating technology, Haptic.

Alex Thomas, vice president of supply chain and manufacturing/engineering strategy at VF Corp, will discuss the reduction of labour-intensive production.

Previously confirmed speakers include Gerhard Flatz, managing director of KTC, and Adriano Goldschmied, founder of Diesel.

Beyond Lean Manufacturing will be held from December 2-3.
