Thule sells offshoot to concentrate on bags

Backpack brand Thule has sold its Snow Chain business to Austrian company Schneketten to allow it to focus on its outdoor and bags division.

The Snow Chain division has 145 employees, with the majority employed at the production site in Molteno, Italy, where also the head office is located

Magnus Welander, CEO of the Swedish group, said: “Our strategic focus is to continue to build on our market leading position in developing products that make it easy for active consumers around the world to bring the things they care for, when pursuing their interests.”

It has opened a research and development centre in Hillerstorp, Småland, with “significant investments” in new technology, increased capacity and more advanced testing.
