Fulgar presents castor oil-derived 'eco' fibre

Italian yarn manufacturer Fulgar has launched a high-performance fibre made of a biopolymer derived from castor oil seed.

EVO is ideal for sportswear, says the company, because it is ultra-light, stretchy and breathable. It's also quick-drying, non-iron and offers natural thermal and bacteriostatic properties.

The castor oil seeds are not suitable for consumption and grow in arid regions not suited to other forms of agriculture.
