Merino tennis collection is a world first, Italian brand claims

Italian sportswear brand Australian will unveil what it has called the world’s first pure merino wool tennis collection at ISPO (January 24-27).

Established in Milan in 1956, Australian also claims to be the oldest Italian sportswear brand in the market. It has worked with merino wool promotion body The Woolmark Company “to help revitalise wool in activewear”.

The new collection is 100% made in Italy and uses pure merino wool jersey fabric from Biella-based supplier Reda Active. It comprises polo shirts, T-shirts and shorts “inspired by the clean and classical silhouettes of the 1960s”.
