Teijin launches new fireproof fabric

High-performance fibre manufacturer Teijin Limited has unveiled Xfire Denim, a fireproof aramid fibre fabric, which is similar in texture to denim.

The new fabric aims to satisfy the demand for more flexible clothing for firefighters. It is made from Teijin’s Teijinconex meta-aramid fibre, which uses a proprietary technology to create a bendable material.

The company said that its appearance is also practical as it enables professional and volunteer firefighters to be easily distinguished when working side-by-side.
