Lenzing sees potential for Tencel in hotel industry

Cellulosic fibre producer Lenzing highlighted the suitability of its plant-based Tencel fibre for use in hotel bed linens at the Heimtextil exhibition in Frankfurt (January 10-13).

“Following intensive effort on our part, we have developed excellent bed linens for the hotel trade,” revealed Susanne Jary, director of Lenzing’s home and interior division. 

“It was no easy task to get Tencel fit for industrial laundries. After years of cooperation with partners in industry, technical recommendations have been developed for cleaning hotel bed linens in industrial laundries,” she added.

Lenzing plans to continue to expand the applications of Tencel fibres for the hotel industry. Ms Jary described the possibilities in this sector as “interesting”.
