Vaude proud of ‘Made in Germany’ products
German outdoor brand Vaude has opened a new production facility at its company headquarters in the town or Tettnang in Southern Germany.

The company has invested €2 million in the plant, which began operations at the start of 2017.

Vaude has said that sustainability plays an important role at the facility. It features a great deal of natural wood and the company has implemented a series of energy-efficient strategies. It is designed to be a comfortable, healthy working space for the 42 employees housed there.

Production has been temporarily moved to a rented production plant following a major fire at the company headquarters in 2015. Approximately 100,000 biked bags and backpacks will be made annually at the factory.

"We have deliberately chosen to strengthen production at our company headquarters and to invest in a new, highly specialised production facility which represents our values, our roots and our core competencies,” said Antje von Dewitz, Vaude CEO.

He added that the company is proud of its ‘Made in Germany’ products, which he said are in high demand around the world. This new facility is part of an effort to increase its production in Germany, which is growing at around 20% each year.
