Gore-Tex shell features in upgraded jacket from The North Face

Outdoor brand The North Face has used the three-layer Pro Fabric from Gore-Tex in a lighter, more breathable version of the Apex Flex jacket it released last year.

The Gore-Tex shell features in the Apex Flex GTX 2.0 product, which The North Face will display at the forthcoming OutDoor exhibition in Friedrichshafen (June 18-21). The company has said the upgraded version of the jacket is 40g lighter and 12% more breathable than the original. 

In Friedrichshafen, the brand will also present the Summit Series L5 Ultralight Storm Jacket, which it describes as its “lightest, most packable alpinist shell yet”. It is designed to reduce any unnecessary bulk and weight so the wearer can climber higher and faster. 

It will also unveil a full ultra-running kit that weighs just 468g. This includes a jacket, short, short sleeved shirt and shoes. The Flight Series RKT Shoes in the collection feature The North Face’s Fastfoam, a soft, responsive EVA midsole foam that offers good energy return and underfoot comfort.
