New certification will help AMSilk set up medical business unit

Synthetic silk biopolymer producer AMSilk has received certification from TÜV Süd for its quality management system. The system is now certified under standard DIN EN ISO 13485:2016.

This certification qualifies AMSilk as a supplier to medical device manufacturers.

Chief executive, Jens Klein, welcomed the certification as validation of AMSilk’s commitment to quality management. He said: “We are very pleased that our high standards regarding safety and product quality have been reconfirmed by the TÜV certification. As AMSilk is planning to further reinforce and develop its medical technology business unit, the certification is an essential milestone in the development of best-in-class products.”
