Aquafil to float on stock exchange

Italian yarn company Aquafil has announced that it intends to go public, floating its shares on the Milan stock exchange in the near future.

To pave the way for the public share of its stock, Aquafil is working with Milan-based investment firm Space Holding, which has the declared aim of supporting the development of high-growth privately held Italian companies through helping them list their shares on regulated markets.

Aquafil’s chief executive, Giulio Bonazzi, confirmed the development during a presentation to potential investors in Milan on June 23.

He told them Aquafil is a global company, with history, vision and values, and that it is building up a leadership position in the circular economy through initiatives such as Econyl. Since the launch of this project four years ago, Aquafil has converted hundreds of tonnes of discarded fishing nets into its Econyl nylon product.
