Invista to roll out new ADN technology at French facility

28/09/2017
Fibre manufacturer Invista has announced plans to deploy its most advanced adipodinitrile (ADN) technology at the facility in Chalampé, France that it co-owns with Solvay.

The development will involve retrofitting the existing Butachimie facility. This is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2019.

The technology is already in place at Invista’s facility in Orange, Texas. Among the advantages it offers are improved product yields, reduced energy consumption, lower greenhouse gas emissions, enhanced process stability and reduced capital intensity.

Invista also plans to roll out the technology at its nylon intermediate facility in Victoria, Texas, with implementation provisionally scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2020.

The company revealed it has received “strong interest” from customers and other stakeholders in building a new ADN plant in Shanghai.
