Nike makes its fastest shoe faster with Flyknit
Sportswear manufacturer Nike claims more than half of the athletes to finish on the podium at the major marathon events in 2018 were wearing its Zoom Vaporfly 4% shoes on their feet. This hasn’t stopped it looking to make the product even faster though.

First created in 2016, the shoe features a combination of innovations that Nike has said offers an average of four-percent improvement in running economy compared to its previous fastest racing shoe. This includes its ZoomX ultra-weight midsole cushioning foam, which offers enhanced energy return, and a full-length carbon fibre plate, designed to increase bending stiffness.

These features have been retained in the new version, with the addition of a Flyknit upper to make the shoe lighter and more breathable.

The Nike Zoom Vaporfly 4% Flyknit has been made available at various retail stores across the world as well as through the company’s e-commerce channels.
