New leadership at Asics America after revenue dip

                    The group achieved revenue of $3.5 billion last year, a decline of 3.4% compared to 2017. It made a net loss of $180 million for the 12 months. Sales in the Americas fell 15% year on year, following on from declines of 6% in 2017 and of 14.5% in 2015.
Shortly after releasing these results, the group announced that Koichiro Kodama would replace Gene McCarthy as CEO of Asics America.
Mr Kodama has been vice president of corporate strategy for this segment since February 2018. For his part, Mr McCarthy had led Asics America since 2015.
“Gene made countless contributions to Asics America as he navigated the brand through an incredibly turbulent time for our industry and implemented numerous changes that set the region on course for success,” said Alistair Cameron, Asics Corp. executive officer. “We thank him for his energy, spirit and being a true champion of the brand during his time with Asics.”
Other appointments it announced for Asics America included Richard Sullivan as vice president of sales, categories and marketing, Craig Gillan as vice president of operations and Paul Ljucovic as vice president of finance.
