Christophe Villemin, co-founder of Chamonix-based ski brand Black Crows, took over as chief executive on April 8, replacing Eric Bascle.

Mr Bascle had led the company for four years and helped it achieve annual growth of more than 50% each year.

Upon taking over, Mr Villemin commended Eric Bascle for his success and thanked him for his work. He said Black Crows will raise new capital before the summer and will then invest in growing its legacy business, especially in the North American market and on building up a stronger digital presence.

He added that the brand also has ambitions to “reach outside the mountaineering market” and, in time, launch “functional lifestyle” initiatives.
