Sports retail group JD Sports has reported revenues for its most recent business year (12 months ending February 2, 2019) of £4.7 billion. This represents an increase of close to 50% compared to the previous year.

Pre-tax profit rose by 26.8% to reach £488.4 million.

Across Europe, JD Sports expanded its network of stores over the 12-month period by 39, opening its first two stores in Finland and its first store in Austria. It now has a presence in 10 European countries.

At year-end there were 46 stores trading as JD across Asia-Pacific, with additional stores in the existing territories of Malaysia and Australia together with its first stores in Singapore, Thailand and South Korea.

The group also opened its first five JD Sports stores in the US. In the case of four of these openings, it converted existing stores run by the Finish Line group, which it acquired in June 2018.
