Traceability helps Cifra stay on track

Warp knit fabric manufacturer Cifra has said a recent investment in enterprise resource planning (ERP) software is helping it maintain its commitment to eliminating waste and to using sustainable yarns.

Cifra recently implemented ERP software from Brescia-based technology provider Panthera and has said the investment is helping it achieve the “full product traceability” it needs to keep sustainability at the core of its efforts to innovate.

Examples of fibres that Cifra believes meet this description include Econyl by Aquafil, a nylon 6 fibre made from 100% regenerated waste materials that would otherwise end up in landfill or in the sea, and QNova by Fulgar, a recycled nylon 6.6 fibre, obtained from regenerated raw materials.

Other examples include Starlight by Radici, a yarn obtained from the post-consumer PET bottles, and Fulgar’s Amni Soul Eco and Roica Eco Smart, which allow garments to biodegrade in landfill.
