Slovenian laminated materials company to be acquired by Freudenberg

Performance materials group Freudenberg is to acquire 100% of the shares of Filc, a Slovenian company that produces needle-punch nonwoven textiles and laminated materials.

Filc has around 360 employees and several manufacturing sites in its home country, as well as a sales office in the US. The transaction is subject to approval by the antitrust authorities.

At the time of the announcement, Freudenberg’s performance materials chief executive, Frank Heislitz, described Filc’s adhesive coating abilities as “exceptionally good”.
