Anta and WWF partnership: conserve wildlife, build more sustainable industry


Anta, the Chinese sportswear group, is partnering with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in efforts to conserve wildlife and global biodiversity while strengthening sustainable development within the textile industry.

The two organisations have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation for long-term partnerships in these areas.

Anta Sports said it will work with WWF to “build up the global standard and platform for the sustainable development of the textile industry”, supporting research and development of environmentally-friendly sporting goods and “activities for development of environmental protection to achieve harmonious coexistence of mankind and nature in future”.

As the chief public welfare partner of WWF, Anta recently engaged in the “Earth Hour” campaign, switching off unnecessary lights and energy-consuming appliances for an hour and partnering with star athletes to promote a more sustainable lifestyle.

Through the collaboration, said Ding Shizhong, chairman and CEO of Anta Sports, “we wish to make an effort together with hundreds of millions of consumers, to care for wildlife and promote environmental protection among them. We will also join hands with both upstream and downstream partners to develop environmentally friendly systems for the industry."
