09/07/2020

Outerwear and accessories maker Dakine has launched a nationwide campaign to recognise efforts by students, educators and families to mitigate hardships caused by the coronavirus pandemic

The US-wide Ohana Means Family campaign looks at ways people have “helped to foster community, and inspire learning amidst the heavy emotional and financial impacts caused by the coronavirus pandemic”. Dakine will select 100 classrooms and give away 3,000 backpacks across the US in time for the upcoming school year.

"With schools being closed and communities unable to come together in traditional ways, the economic divide in the US has become more apparent than ever,” said Pam Levine, SVP for Dakine. “Students and their families faced significant adversity and learning challenges while teachers have been forced to adapt on the fly. We're inspired by those who found creative solutions to keep the education process moving forward during these unprecedented times.
