Richey Seaton to retire from Georgia Cotton Commission
Richey Seaton is retiring from his 16-year role as the Georgia Cotton Commission’s executive director. As of August 1, Taylor Sills will take over the role.
Mr Seaton has served in this role since 1994, during which time he was responsible for reestablishing the commission’s office and staff. The organisation said he “ushered the organisation’s programmes of research, promotion and education to new heights as Georgia’s cotton acreage has increased over the years”.
GCC Chairman Bart Davis, a Georgia cotton farmer, said: “Richey has been a mentor to many, and his influence has made an incredible impact on thousands of cotton farmers across the state. On behalf of Georgia’s 3,500 cotton farmers, I want to publicly thank him for his service.”
