AAFA calls for further action to resolve ongoing shipping crisis

The American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) has called for increased US government support to address an ongoing shipping crisis that has caused a “destructive cycle of lengthening delays and rocketing costs”.

AAFA chief executive, Steve Lamar, made the comments in a letter to President Joe Biden on July 15. 

In the letter, Mr Lamar said there was a risk of empty shelves in US shops and interruptions to the economy’s recovery from the covid-19 pandemic.
