Barrel achieves Korean swimming first
Local media have reported that Seoul-headquartered swimwear brand Barrel has become an official supplier and sponsor of the Korea Swimming Federation, the first ever domestic brand to enter into such an agreement with the sporting organisation.
Barrel will not only outfit national athletes, but also exercise newfound exclusive branding and advertising rights, including the display of its logo on athletic kit at the upcoming Summer Olympics and Paralympics in Tokyo.
Co-chief executive at the swimwear company, Lee Sang-hoon, commented on the news: “I am very honoured and delighted that Barrel has been selected as the official sponsor of the Korea Swimming Federation - a first for domestic swimming.
“We will strive to further develop our performance technology so that Korean swimmers can participate in competitions wearing Korean-branded swimsuits.”
Barrel recently released two styles of competition-ready, International Swimming Federation (FINA)-approved swimwear after a technical “upgrade” and already sponsors national swimmers and divers including Lee Dong-jin, Jang Yesol, Woo Ha-ram and Kim Su-ji.
