Pangaia releases first 100% Infinna garment
Materials science brand Pangaia and Finnish textile technology company Infinited Fiber have together revealed the first commercial garments to be made entirely from the latter’s Infinna fibre, made from regenerated textile waste.

Sold as the Infinite tee via Pangaia’s materials innovation “lab” platform, the black t-shirts are available in both short- and long-sleeved versions for $75 and $85, respectively.

Key account director at Infinited Fiber, Kirsi Terho, commented: “We dream of a future where ‘waste’ is not wasted, but seen as the valuable resource it can be. We couldn’t be happier that Pangaia’s customers will be the first to experience wearing a shirt made out of 100% textile waste that has been cleaned up and broken down at the molecular level to be given a new life as brand-new textile fibre.

“We want to change the image of regenerated textiles being somehow inferior and feel confident that this collection will demonstrate just that.”

Infinna was recently certified as containing a minimum of 99% post-consumer recycled cellulose content by the SCS Global services recycled content standard.
