Fibre and high-performance materials developer Teijin has announced that the president of its business in the US, Jane Thomas, has been appointed to the US department of commerce’s investment advisory council.

This council was established in 2016 as a conduit for stakeholders to provide insight on how best to attract and retain overseas direct investment into the US.

She said she was honoured to have been selected and that she looked forward to providing her perspective on how government policies can encourage or inhibit investment.

She added: “Teijin has been a strong economic partner to the US, making significant technological and capital contributions to the advanced materials manufacturing sector. It has made large-scale investments in innovation to strengthen US supply chains. These efforts will pay off for generations to come, both for our company and the thousands of US workers we employ.”
