UK Fashion & Textile Association mourns death of Queen Elizabeth II
The UK Fashion & Textile Association has said the organisation and the entire fashion and textile industry in the UK is deeply saddened by the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on September 8.
In a statement to mark the queen’s death, UKFT said: “For over 70 years, Her Majesty reigned over the United Kingdom and was the nation’s beating heart and soul. In addition to her role as sovereign, Her Majesty was a passionate supporter of industry and a fashion icon over seven decades.”
It went on to say that the UK fashion and textile industry owed the queen “a huge debt of gratitude”. It sent its condolences to all members of the royal family and, in particular, to the Princess Royal, Anne, who is president of UKFT.
