Move to new HQ will support expansion, AMSilk says
Munich-based developer of silk-like biopolymers AMSilk has relocated to a new, purpose-built biotech lab and office space. It said the move would support its expansion into production networks outside Europe.
The new space, which is at Campus Neuried in Munich, is three times the size of AMSilk’s previous headquarters. It will use the new facility to scale up production, reaching several thousand tonnes per year within the next five years, it said.
It said it wanted to contribute to decarbonisation and to the production of sustainable materials for the future.
It said AMSilk’s fibres, which are biodegradable, produced only with renewable plant-based raw materials and free of microplastics, could “influence a positive change”.
