CEO announcement from Under Armour will come before 2023
Founder and executive chairman of Under Armour, Kevin Plank, has said the sports brand is on course to announce a new chief executive before the end of this year.
Mr Plank was Under Armour’s chief executive until early 2020 when he stepped aside to allow Patrik Frisk to lead the company. However, Mr Frisk left in June 2022. The company’s chief operating officer, Colin Browne, has served as interim chief executive since then.
On presenting its results for the first half of its current business year at the start of November, Kevin Plank said: “We remain on track to announce our permanent leadership before the year's end.”
He said this was “a pivotal time” for the Baltimore-based brand, adding: “We’re operating in a complicated, uncertain time for every industry, including ours. We will not miss the opportunity to reposition and establish our sector leadership wherever we choose to compete.”
