Lenzing attributes 2022 growth to higher fibre prices
Austria-based fibre manufacturer Lenzing has reported year-on-year revenue growth of 16.9% for fiscal 2022, a feat it “primarily” attributed to higher fibre prices caused by unfavourable global energy and raw material market dynamics.

The producer noted reduced sales of its wood-based cellulosic fibres, but added that the quantity of pulp it sold over the 12 months had increased versus the comparative period. Overall, revenues reached approximately $2.7 billion or €2.57 billion.

“Lenzing faced extraordinary headwinds due to the multiple crises last year,” commented the company's chief executive, Stephen Sielaff.

“Having responded quickly and decisively to all these external challenges, we can [afford to] be very proud of our outstanding achievements, including the implementation of our investment projects in Thailand and Brazil.”
