Diversified business model works for Columbia
Outdoor apparel and footwear group Columbia Sportswear has reported revenues of $820.6 million for the first quarter of 2023. This figure is up by 8% compared to the same period in 2022.
Chief executive, Tim Boyle, said the results highlighted the value to the group of having a diversified global business model. Consumer demand remained strong in many areas of the business, Mr Boyle said.
He added that Columbia was planning targeted marketing investments across footwear and apparel for the months ahead and remained confident of achieving full-year results of between $3.5 billion and $3.7 billion for the full year. This would represent growth of between 3% and 6% yar on year.
“I am confident we have the right strategies in place to drive profitable growth,” he said.
