Out of the frying pan and into the dyer

Italian company Erca has joined sustainability platform CLASS with its solution for the textiles industry made from waste cooking oil.

Revecol by Erca uses leftover oil as a replacement for some chemical auxiliaries used as part of the dye process.

Products in the family include Revecol LV-TS, a dispersing and levelling agent for dyeing polyester fibres, and Revecol LV-DN, used to aid the dyeing of polyamide and its blends.

CLASS founder Giusy Bettoni said: "This new generation of chemical auxiliaries and a circular DNA represents the missing piece that further increases the measured and certified level of responsibility in production of textiles. It adds the green chemistry factor, something key for the contemporary fashion consumer.”
