General manager appointment for OrthoLite in India

Developer of open-cell foam technology for footwear OrthoLite has announced Vikash Bajargyan as the new general manager of its business in India.

He has 18 years’ experience of the footwear industry and, before joining OrthoLite, worked for Coats Group, leading its footwear division across India and Bangladesh. Before Coats, he worked at specialist footwear materials developer Texon in Chennai for six years. Coats acquired Texon in July 2022.

In his new role, Mr Bajargyan will lead OrthoLite’s manufacturing and business development in India, as well as establishing and managing relationships with footwear brands and tier-one factory partners.

Chief executive and founder of OrthoLite, Glenn Barrett, said Vikash Bajargyan would be the idea leader of the company’s efforts to build new business opportunities “in this important region”. Mr Barrett described India as “a thriving market both for the domestic consumer market and the export market, with tremendous potential”. 

OrthoLite opened a manufacturing facility in Ambur, Tamil Nadu, in June 2021. The factory is now fully operational and ready to expand, it said. It added that 66 of the 500-plus footwear brands to which it supplies open-cell foam materials produce in India.
